Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Technical Expert (LL6) in the United States to lead the design and in-house process for suspension structural components. You will drive manufacturing feasibility, tooling, and process optimization with DFMEA, PFMEA, and APQP practices.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, validate designs to tool specs, and ensure robust release and quality across stamping, casting, and forging components.

Qualifications

• BS-Engineering required.
• 10 Years of experience in chassis structural design + engineering.
• Extensive DFMEA/PFMEA, control plans, and GD&T experience.
• Experience with CAE tools and manufacturing simulations.
• Ability to lead DOE and process optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of an in-house design and manufacturing process for suspension structural parts.
• Develop and maintain internal engineering foundation documents (design guides, DRs, RQTs, interface contracts).
• Create and manage Level 2 technical materials (Process FMEAs, Control Plans, Safe Launch Plans, Sub-component BOMs).
• Lead DFM/DFA feasibility reviews prior to tool kickoff.
• Drive in-house manufacturing process simulations to optimize structure and feasibility.
• Lead OK to tool process with BTP supplier and approvals.
• Conduct test facility correlation studies between Ford and supplier facilities.
• Develop GD&T for in-house designs and sign-off program prints.
• Support prototype development with program teams on BTP parts.
• Manage data collection and capability analysis for SC/CC and calculate Ppk.
• Lead DOE trials and process optimization.
• Develop APQP plans and OK-To-Build/OK-To-Ship reviews, gauge R&R oversight.
• Lead root cause analysis (8D, JIRA) for dimensional and manufacturing issues.
