Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Cheyenne, WY seeks a Technical Expert (LL6) to lead the design and in-house process delivery for suspension structural components, covering stampings, castings, and forgings. You will establish and maintain process foundations, DFMEA, control plans, and manufacturing feasibility from concept through launch.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in chassis structural design and engineering.
• Extensive experience with suspension components (stampings, castings, forgings) and launch.
• Proven ability to execute manufacturing, tooling feasibility, and PPAP in-house.
• Experience creating DFMEA, PFMEA, SCCAF, Control Plans, and advanced GD&T.
• Proficient with CAE tools, manufacturing simulation, and DOE methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of in-house design/manufacturing process for suspension components.
• Develop and maintain internal engineering foundation documents (design guides, DRs, RQTs).
• Create and manage Level 2 technical materials (Process FMEAs, Control Plans, GPAPs).
• Lead DFM/DFA reviews prior to tool kickoff; ensure tool/design compatibility.
• Run in-house manufacturing process simulations to optimize feasibility.
• Approve supplier steps (OK to tool) and steel purchases.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for design releases and validations.
• Support DFMEA/PFMEA and gauge/fixture design reviews.
