Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Technical Expert (LL6) to lead the design and in-house process delivery for Suspension Structural Components. You will drive DFM/ DFA feasibility, process simulations, and APQP plans while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability and quality from concept to launch.

Strong experience in chassis structures, DFMEA/PFMEA, GD&T, and CAE tools is required, with the ability to lead root cause analyses and supplier

Qualifications

• BS-Engineering required.
• 10 years of chassis structural design + engineering experience.
• Extensive experience with suspension components (stampings, castings, forgings).
• Experience creating DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and drawings with GD&T.
• Experience with CAE tools and manufacturing simulations.
• Ability to lead root cause analysis for complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house design and manufacturing process for suspension structural parts.
• Develop and maintain design foundation documents and interface contracts.
• Create and manage DFMEA, PFMEA and control plans.
• Lead DFM and DFA reviews prior to tooling kickoff.
• Drive process simulations to optimize manufacturability.
• Lead to-tool process approvals with suppliers and OK to build/finish steps.
• Conduct DOE and process optimization trials to confirm improvements.
• Lead RCA and 8D/JIRA tracking for launch issues.
