Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Technical Expert (LL6) in Honolulu to lead the design and in-house process delivery for suspension structural components. You will drive design for manufacturing and manufacturing feasibility, ensuring tool readiness and robust process capability across stamping, casting, and forging.

You will develop internal engineering foundation documents, coordinate DFMEA/PFMEA, and lead design reviews, process simulations, and supplier alignment to deliver high-quality,

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field required.
• 10+ years in chassis structural design/engineering.
• Deep experience with suspension structural components (stampings, castings, forgings).
• Experience delivering DFMEA/PFMEA, control plans, and drawings with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of an in-house design and manufacturing process for suspension structural parts (stampings, castings, forgings).
• Develop and maintain internal engineering foundation documents including design guides, rules, requirements, and interface contracts.
• Create and manage Level 2 technical materials (Process FMEAs, Control Plans, Safe Launch Plans, Sub-component BOMs).
• Lead DFMA/DFA feasibility reviews prior to tool kickoff and ensure alignment with tool design specs and plant equipment.
• Drive in-house manufacturing process simulations to optimize structure and feasibility.
• Lead OK-to-tool with BTP supplier including steel purchase approvals and finish steps.
• Conduct test facility correlation studies, develop GD&T for in-house designs, and support prototype development.
