Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. Under supervision, you will assist in setup, preparing patients, passing instruments, and maintaining sterile technique.

You will participate in time-out procedures, monitor OR conditions, and help with equipment needs. Minimum high school diploma required; 2-3 years acute care experience preferred with leadership experience 3-5 years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting required; 4 years preferred.
• Knowledge of SPD sterile room and sterile processing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Participates in time-out procedures.
• Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed.
• Sets up equipment independently.
• Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
• Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
