Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Surgical Technologist I at Newton-Wellesley Hospital to assist surgeons, nurses, and the surgical team, ensuring a safe operating room environment. This is a 12-hour shift role with weekend scheduling at 2014 Washington Street, onsite.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and CST/equivalent credentials preferred; 0–1 year experience is required, with 1–2 years preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of Surgical Technologist experience required; 1-2 years preferred
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment required for the surgery.
• Transport patients to the operating room and assist with positioning.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team.
• Maintain sterile technique and instrument counts.
• Document surgical procedures and counts.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site and managing drains/catheters.
