Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
• Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery.
• Gather clean and sterile supplies, set sterile instrument fields, maintain aseptic technique.
• Assist with the orientation of new staff and participate on departmental committees.
• Must be willing to float to all UCI Health locations as needed.
