Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the surgical team before, during, and after procedures. You will help prepare and sterilize instruments, assist with equipment setup, and ensure accurate room turnover. 

The role requires at least two years of acute OR experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and Basic Life Support certification. You may train with RNs and other scrub staff in a collaborative Labor Management Partnership environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Willingness to train RNs and other disciplines in the scrub role.

Responsibilities

• Direct, check, review, assign and coordinate work of Surgical Technicians.
• Coordinate equipment setup and instrument sterility for procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and scrubbing during surgery.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon and assist with room turnover and sterilization.
• Participate in patient safety quality initiatives and adherence to hospital policy.
