Qualifications

• Two (2) years within the last three years operating room scrubbing or equivalent military experience.
• Graduate of approved surgical technologist or military equivalent program.
• National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery OR Surgical Technologist Certificate from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certifications must be maintained as applicable.
• Clear and concise communication in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties.
• Sets up and organizes room and ensures all equipment/instruments are sterile and ready.
• Passes instruments and anticipates surgeons needs during procedures.
• Transports patients, equipment, and supplies as needed within the medical center.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and provides information within the scope of competency.
