Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) seeks a Senior Associate, Supply Chain - Distribution & Logistics to help lead large, complex client engagements in the PEPI practice across the US. You will work with PE leadership to identify, design, and implement creative supply chain solutions for portfolio companies.

You will analyze distribution networks, inventory flows, and cost structures, and support sourcing events and implementation plans.

Qualifications

• 4-7+ years of consulting or industry operating experience.
• Previous advisory experience from a top-tier strategy firm, leading specialist, niche advisory firm, or Big-4 consultancy preferred.
• Hands-on experience in distribution and logistics network optimization, transportation and warehouse sourcing, 3PL operating experience, or production and inventory planning.
• Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.
• Flexibility to travel based on project requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Understand client supply chain including manufacturing and distribution locations, baseline product flow and seasonality, and operating costs.
• Assess opportunities, design strategies, and define tactics to meet growth and financial objectives.
• Analyze network design, warehousing costs, inventory flows, and optimization opportunities with modeling.
• Assist in sourcing events for transportation and warehousing, including RFIs/RFPs with 3PLs.
• Recommend improvements in inventory planning to optimize service levels and working capital.
• Develop transformation plans for transportation, freight optimization, and warehousing improvements.
