Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a Supplier Management Specialist to improve supplier quality and delivery performance. You will monitor suppliers through performance-based management and drive continuous improvement to achieve lower costs and higher performance.

The role requires extensive coordination with Product Strategy, Operations, and Procurement, and travel up to 75% in North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field.
• 4+ years supplier management, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• 4+ years supplier quality experience with PPAP and root cause & corrective actions.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment or shop floor leadership.
• Knowledge of tooling, die/casting, stamping, molding, or related processes.
• Reading drawings/ GD&T and value stream/Lean principles.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% (North America).

Responsibilities

• Develop our supplier base to ensure best overall cost, quality, manufacturability, and operational self-reliance.
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop project schedules to achieve vehicle milestone KPIs.
• Lead problem solving at the supplier and approve corrective actions.
• Support procurement and the supplier award process with performance input.
• Drive continuous improvement in the supply base and supplier performance.
