Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC, located in Ladson, South Carolina, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead quality activities during vehicle launches and engineering changes. You will be the primary interface between suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering to ensure flawless launch execution and robust supplier performance.

Role requires deep knowledge of APQP/PPAP, VDA 6.3, FMEA, and control plans; travel to international supplier sites; strong program management and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/industrial/manufacturing/quality engineering.
• Minimum 5 years automotive launch and supplier quality experience, including VDA-RGA.
• Travel extensively to supplier locations internationally.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, VDA 6.3, FMEA, Control Plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality activities during new vehicle launches and engineering change implementations.
• Assess supplier manufacturing readiness through milestones and launch gates.
• Monitor launch-related KPIs and supplier risk status.
• Coordinate supplier activities during prototype, trial, pre-series, and SOP phases.
• Drive containment strategies for critical components and lead escalation meetings.
• Review PPAP/PPA submissions and approve readiness for SOP.
• Establish and monitor supplier performance; conduct 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and provide launch updates.
