Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Supplier Quality Lead to manage a team focused on delivering high-quality powertrain components from global suppliers. You will oversee audits, corrective actions, and KPI tracking to ensure uninterrupted production and strong customer satisfaction.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, a Bachelor’s in engineering, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 1-3 year of related experience.
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present complex technical topics during meetings with suppliers and Daimler management.
• Knowledge of GD&T and MSA.
• Ability to understand metallurgical requirements and interpret reports.
• Strong problem solving skills and a solution-focused mindset.
• Understanding of quality problem solving tools such as 8D, 5-why, fishbone, etc.
• A customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand and address customer needs and expectations related to supplier quality topics.

Responsibilities

• Work with suppliers to ensure performance is regularly reported and corrective actions implemented.
• Manage timely resolution of supplier technical issues to maintain production supply.
• Lead supplier performance improvement projects to meet customer requirements.
• Document activities related to investigation, disposition, and resolution of quality complaints.
• Conduct supplier audits to confirm product conformity and drive standardization and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and improve key supplier quality KPIs, including DPPM and capacity for on-time shipments.
• Lead or support short/long-term supplier quality goals.
• Champion root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
• Resolve supplier technical issues to ensure continuity of supply.
• Interface with cross-functional teams on supplier quality topics.
• Oversee containment actions at suppliers to mitigate quality issues.
• Domestic and international travel (expected 30-50%).
