Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction, a 100% employee-owned company with national recognition, seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on complex projects. You will drive safety, quality, scheduling, and team development while partnering with the PM to align on strategy and budget.

You bring 10+ years of superintendent experience at a general contractor, strong communication, and a proven ability to mentor staff. Life Science and education projects are in scope.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience as a Project Superintendent at a general contractor.
• Experience in managing field personnel and all trades on site with strong communication, training, mentoring.
• Project experience in Life Science, Advanced Tech, Commercial Ride K-12, and Higher Education.

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily field operations to ensure site safety, construction progress, quality control and a clean site.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy, scheduling, budgeting and milestones.
• Work with PM to maintain an updated project schedule reflecting changes and meeting cost/time requirements.
• Maintain open dialogue with the project team about changes, subcontractor relations and deviations.
• Foster positive relationships with subcontractors and vendors while instilling this philosophy in the team.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking forSenior Superintendents to join our team. What separates our Senior Supers is their ability to lead from the front and support their staff with charisma and tenacity. We expect our Senior Supers have true building knowledge and conquer challenges fearlessly.

• Lead all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control and a clean site
• Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, inspections
• Work in partnership with PM to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and that meets the cost and time requirements of the project
• Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations and any deviation in the direction of the project
• Always promotes positive relationships by dealing expertly and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors while instilling this philosophy in the project team

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience as a Project Superintendent at a general contractor
• Experience in managing field personnel and all trades on site, with great communication skills as well as training, developing, and mentoring of others
• Project Experience: Life Science, Advanced Tech, Commercial RIDE K-12, and Higher Education.
• Project Size Experience:10M +
• Experience with complex and logistically challenging, fast-paced and high-visibility projects.

Salary Range Information

RI Base Salary Range: $150,000 – $250,000 The range stated is specific to Boston. Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles) and internal company equity.
