Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction in Boston is actively seeking a Superintendent to lead daily field operations, ensuring safety, progress, quality, and a clean site. This role emphasizes strong leadership and a hands-on approach to project execution on a range of projects.

You will develop project strategies, manage schedules, and foster open dialogue with the team and subcontractors, promoting fair relationships and reliable delivery across all phases.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years experience as a Project Superintendent with a reputable General Contractor or Construction Manager in both a union and non-union environment.
• Experience in managing, training, and developing people.
• Project experience: Higher Education, MSBA, Life Science, Manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction progress, quality control and a clean site.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments, including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones and inspections.
• Maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and that meets the cost and time requirements of the project.
• Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations, and any deviation in the direction of the project.
• Always promotes positive relationships by dealing expertly and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors while instilling this philosophy in the project team.

Salary Range Information

Boston Base Salary Range: $105,000 – $180,000 The range stated is specific to Boston. Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles) and internal company equity.
