Shawmut Design and Construction is hiring a Project Superintendent in Rhode Island for overseeing field operations, safety, quality, and schedule adherence. The role emphasizes autonomy, leadership, and strong collaboration with project teams and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years as a Project Superintendent with a reputable GC, with experience managing teams on multi-million-dollar projects and strong communication skills to grow with a fast-moving organization.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Project Superintendent with a reputable General Contractor.
• Experience in managing, training, and developing people.
• Project Size Experience: 10M to 50M
• Desired Project Segment Experience: Life Science, Advanced Tech / Manufacturing, Higher Ed. K-12, RIIDE and Commercial.
• Strong communication skills and a desire to grow with a growing organization

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control, and a clean site.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments, including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections.
• Maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and that meets the cost and time requirements of the project.
• Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations, and any deviation in the direction of the project.
• Always promotes positive relationships by dealing expertly and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors while instilling this philosophy in the project team.

Salary Range Information

Rhode Island Base Salary Range: $105,000 – $180,000 The range stated is specific to New England Placement. The range listed depends on many factors, including, but not limited to, years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles), and internal company equity.
