Job summary

Sargent Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Designer in a role that blends in-office collaboration with remote work in Charlotte, NC. The position focuses on delivering high- and extra-high voltage substation drawings, from General Arrangements to grounding and conduit details.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, and the ability to visualize complex parts in 3D.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of substation physical design experience.
• An Associate's Degree in Drafting, or a high school diploma and 2 or more years drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Substation General Arrangement drawings.
• Prepare Substation Electrical Equipment Plans.
• Create Substation Section Views (Elevations) and BOM.
• Develop Substation Grounding, Conduit and Grounding Details.
• Interpret vendor information and apply client standards.
• Conduct walkdowns at client facilities.
