Sargent & Lundy in Wilmington, Delaware, offers a hybrid work arrangement combining in-office and remote work. The Substation Physical Designer will join a project team responsible for producing essential substation drawings and plans.

Requirements include a minimum of 10 years in substation physical design, an Associate’s Degree in Drafting (or equivalent), and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation. Candidate should be able to visualize parts in 3D and collaborate with engineers and vendors.

Qualifications

• Ten years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or a high school diploma with 2+ years drafting coursework or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Substation General Arrangement drawings.
• Prepare Substation Electrical Equipment Plans.
• Create Substation Section Views (Elevations).
• Develop Substation Detailed Bill of Material.
• Draft Substation Grounding Plans and Shielding/Conduit details.
• Produce Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plans and related details.
• Coordinate with vendors and incorporate design standards.
