Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced Substation Designer to contribute to detailed electrical plans and wiring layouts. The role requires extensive experience in substation physical design and strong CAD skills in AutoCAD or MicroStation.

The candidate will work in a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week, supporting engineering teams across initiatives and ensuring deliverables meet client standards and project timelines.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or equivalent drafting coursework.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD aid.

• Substation Detailed Bill of Material.
• Substation Lightning Stroke Shielding Plan.
• Substation Grounding Plan.

• Substation Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plan.
• Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and Section.
