Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to join a project team of engineers and designers for high and extra high voltage substations. You will prepare detailed drawings including GA, equipment plans, sections, BOM, grounding, shielding, conduit and raceway details, while incorporating vendor data and client standards.

The role requires 12+ years in substation physical design, proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and strong 3D visualization skills.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or equivalent with drafting coursework.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD assistance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare substation drawings: General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Section Views, BOM, Grounding and Shielding, Conduit/Raceway Details.
• Incorporate vendor information into design deliverables and perform client walkdowns.
• Apply client standards and work within a hybrid in-office schedule (3 days/week).
