Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to join a project team focused on high and extra high voltage substation design. You will prepare multiple substation drawings and collaborate with engineers and other designers to deliver accurate design deliverables.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years of substation physical design experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, with the ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of a computer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Substation General Arrangement drawings.
• Prepare Substation Electrical Equipment Plans.
• Prepare Substation Section Views (Elevations).
• Prepare Substation Detailed Bill of Material.
• Prepare Substation Lightning Stroke Shielding Plan.
• Prepare Substation Grounding Plan.
• Prepare Substation Conduit, Electrical Connection and Grounding Details.
• Prepare Substation Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plan.
• Prepare Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and Section.
