Job summary

Pike Engineering in Greenwood Village, Colorado, seeks a Substation Designer to lead physical design and provide technical support to the transmission substation engineering and design team, delivering safe, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering services.

You will manage project schedules and budgets, support proposals and cost estimating, mentor junior designers, and coordinate with other disciplines and clients to resolve complex issues during construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology or equivalent, or 2–4 years of related education/experience.
• 5–10 years’ experience in substation design with or without a degree.
• Strong understanding of substation design, NEC/NESC basics, and field coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation physical design work and mentor junior designers/drafters.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication.
• Support proposals, cost estimating, and cross-discipline coordination.
