Job summary

Pike Engineering seeks a senior Substation Physical Engineer to lead the design and execution of transmission substations, battery storage, and solar collector projects, delivering safe, cost-effective engineering and design services.

You will supervise engineers and designers, manage budgets and schedules, support proposals, and collaborate with clients and construction teams on site visits and design modifications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a practicing engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree from ABET/EAC-accredited Engineering Program OR evaluation by NCEES for non-ABET credentials OR advanced degree in engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design and supervise engineers and designers for transmission substation, battery energy storage, and solar projects.
• Create processes for project scopes, estimates, budgets, and schedules for substation projects.
• Create QA/QC checklists to improve physical designs through 500kV substations.
• Prepare written specifications and implement them on engineering drawings.
• Lead a team of engineers and designers in a lead engineer capacity and mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines, contractors, consultants, and clients; visit sites and modify designs during construction.
