Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead, mentor, and grow a team delivering high‑voltage substation protection and control projects, serving as the technical authority for relaying, SCADA, and automation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
Professional engineering (PE) license required.
15 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, delivery, and technical execution of high‑voltage substation protection and control projects.
Serve as a technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, automation, and substation communications.
Develop, review, and approve protection and control engineering deliverables including schematics and relay settings.
Lead power system studies, protection coordination, equipment selection, and related analyses.
Monitor budgets, schedules, and performance to ensure successful project delivery.
Mentor engineers, recruit and develop talent, and support business development.
