Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead protection and control projects, mentor staff, and drive successful delivery and client satisfaction.

The role requires extensive experience in high-voltage protection, relaying, SCADA, and project leadership, with travel to multiple regional offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 15 years of related experience. Domestic/international travel as needed.
• Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery, and technical execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
• Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, and substation communications.
• Develop, review, and approve protection and control deliverables including schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings, and panel layouts.
• Lead power system studies, protection coordination, and related analyses.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery, commissioning, testing, and startup.
• Drive quality reviews, standards development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
