CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical leadership within the Power and Energy practice. You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers while serving as the technical authority for protection and control systems.

The role requires overseeing complex substation projects, ensuring client satisfaction, and delivering high-quality technical solutions with a focus on reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• PE license or ability to obtain licensure required.
• Minimum 15 years of related experience in power delivery and substation protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery, and technical execution of high-voltage substation P&C projects.
• Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA, and automation.
• Develop, review, and approve engineering deliverables (schematics, wiring, relay settings).
• Lead power system studies, protection coordination, and equipment selection.
• Oversee mentoring, performance evaluations, and career development.
• Coordinate staffing, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
• Drive quality reviews, standards development, and continuous improvement.
