Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer III to design substation protection and control systems, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical excellence across utility projects.

The role supports remote work from within the United States with preferred hybrid arrangements near multiple office locations. You will work with clients and cross-functional teams from concept through construction, ensuring quality, safety, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 4-7 years of experience in Substation Protection & Control design engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent document management and organization skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control systems using applicable codes and client standards.
• Develop protective relaying and control system designs for transmission and distribution substations.
• Create equipment and material specifications for procurement and develop design scope and cost estimates.
• Prepare support documentation for procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation/maintenance.
