Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Principal Protection & Control Engineer to lead the design of high‑voltage substations, delivering code‑compliant engineering solutions and mentoring junior engineers. You will influence project outcomes from concept through construction, ensuring safety, reliability and quality.

This role offers remote work within the United States with preferred hybrid options at select offices; candidates with deep P&C experience and PE licensure are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
• 15+ years of experience in Substation protection & control design engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control systems per codes and client standards.
• Develop protective relaying and control system designs for transmission and distribution substations.
• Create equipment specifications and cost estimates for engineered equipment procurement.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and contractors for project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure QA/QC compliance of design packages.
