CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to lead technical delivery and team development within the Power and Energy practice in the United States. You will serve as the technical authority for protection and control systems, guiding complex projects and mentoring engineers across multiple offices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; PE license preferred.
15 years of related experience in electrical power systems.
Travel may be required across multiple sites or regions.

Responsibilities

Lead design, delivery, and technical execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, and automation.
Develop, review, and approve protection/control deliverables and documentation.
Mentor engineers and designers to support technical excellence and career growth.
Manage team utilization, staffing, and project profitability; support BD activities.
