Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC seeks a traveling field technician to test, troubleshoot, and commission high-voltage substations across the Midwest. The role covers LV to 765 kV systems, SF6 breakers, GIS, transformers, and HV test sets with travel up to 100% and per diem.

Ideal candidates hold NETA Level II–IV and may include military power-production training. Driver’s license required and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation experience (69–345 kV) with relays, breakers, transformers and controls.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% with per diem.
• Military power-production training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV systems, up to 765 kV.
• Test switchgear and breakers, including SF6 gas breakers and GIS.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers, from small units to large power transformers.
• Run power factor and other HV test sets, and test cable installations.
• Commission and troubleshoot control and transfer schemes.
