Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Design-Build/EPC Project Manager with substantial substation experience. You will define and schedule projects, manage budgets and costs, and ensure profitability while coordinating with clients and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 13+ years of related experience, and certification within 12 months. Travel is up to 10%, and the position focuses on design-build/EPC substation projects in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 13+ years of relevant work experience.
• PMP, CCM or DBIA certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Creates project definitions, schedules, budgets for projects.
• Prepares statements of work with WBS and gains approvals.
• Manages project costs and profitability.
• Creates and reviews client billings; ensures timely payment and approves subcontractor invoices.
• Monitors project status and escalates risks as needed.
• Manages change using change-management protocols.
• Communicates deadlines and objectives to the project team.
• Prepares overall project schedule and in-house budgets by group.
• Facilitates meetings with stakeholders.
• Guides engineering for code reviews and issue resolution.
• Coordinates submittals to agencies.
• Delivers work per project schedule; reviews documents for accuracy.
• Monitors progress of tasks/deliverables.
• Reviews and approves Engineering Change Notices.
• Coordinates with PM to conduct pre-bid meetings and tabulate bids.
• Prepares closeout and lessons-learned meetings.
• Prepares monthly reports and bid packages.
• Prepares and distributes addendums.
• Files and stores contract documents.
• Responds to RFIs and proposed changes; researches questions.
• Prepares and distributes contract modifications.
• Mentors less experienced Project Managers.
