Job summary

The Perry Group, a CDM Smith company, is seeking an experienced design-build/EPC Project Manager with substantial substations experience. You will define, schedule, and budget projects, manage costs and profitability, and ensure timely client payments.

You will lead change management, coordinate submittals, and mentor junior managers in a fast-paced design-build environment. Responsibilities include preparing statements of work and budgets, reviewing invoices, and ensuring project deliverables

Qualifications

• Significant experience with project management methodology including budgets, schedules and controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities for team and clients.
• Ability to interact with staff at all levels and with vendors/subcontractors.
• Advanced MS Word and Excel skills.
• Superior organizational skills to balance multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of building materials and construction methods and construction documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives.
• Prepare detailed statements of work with work breakdown structures and secure stakeholder concurrence.
• Manage project costs and profitability.
• Prepare client billings and ensure timely payments; review subcontractor invoices for payment.
• Monitor project status and escalate risks as needed.
• Manage change using formal change management processes.
• Communicate deadlines, assignments, and objectives to the project team.
• Prepare overall project schedule and in-house budgets by group.
• Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and coordinate with engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate submittals to agencies and ensure deliverables per schedule.
• Review and approve Engineering Change Notices when appropriate.
• Support pre-bid meetings and bid tabulations; prepare closing and lessons learned sessions.
• Prepare monthly reports, bid packages, addenda, and contract modifications.
