Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer in the United States to join a project team focused on high voltage substations. The role involves conceptualization, planning, execution, and client interfacing, with opportunities to travel to client sites and participate in Communities of Practice.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in MV power system design, strong communication, and experience reviewing drawings; ABET-accredited engineering background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree is required.
• 7+ years in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budgets/time constraints.
• Experience tracking project information: schedules, expenditures, status reports, client interface.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead project conceptualization, work planning, and execution.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve complex electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare reports that clearly present technical and project information.
• Collaborate with teams through Ideas and Communities of Practice at Sargent & Lundy.
• Possibly travel to client sites for project needs.
