Job summary

EDF power solutions North America seeks a Senior Substation Engineer to lead design across a portfolio of renewable projects. You will oversee substation and HV engineering, ensuring code compliance and technical excellence while coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

The role includes mentoring junior engineers, driving design criteria, and supporting procurement and field coordination. Hybrid work with on-site in San Diego, CA or Montreal, QC, is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years hands-on experience in substation design.
• PE license is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation and transmission line engineering across North American projects.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve design issues during implementation.
• Coordinate design with internal teams and external resources for major HV equipment.
• Review and develop design criteria, schematics, and electrical studies.
• Support procurement reviews and vendor submittals for HV equipment.
• Travel for site visits and coordination as needed.
