Job summary
EDF Renewable Energy in North America is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to lead substation design across our solar, wind, and storage projects. You will ensure designs meet utility standards and codes, with hands-on oversight of high‑voltage engineering, protection, and studies.
Based in a hybrid role, you will split time between office and site visits, mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with external resources, and driving continuous improvements while supporting project teams from
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in substation design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead substation and transmission line engineering across EDF projects.
- Provide technical leadership and resolve design issues during project implementation.
- Coordinate internal and external resources; review specifications and deliverables.
- Support procurement reviews and vendor submittals for HV equipment.
- Collaborate with construction and O&M teams on design matters.
