Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Substation (Part Time) in a hybrid U.S. role. The candidate will lead substation projects, develop protection/controls, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with clients and vendors.

The position emphasizes design excellence, budget and schedule control, and active collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams in a flexible work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide project coordination and technical guidance on substation projects.
• Develop protection and control designs and physical layouts for HV substations.
• Prepare equipment specifications and BOMs for procurement and construction.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate with clients and vendors.
• Manage design budgets and project schedules.
