Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Substation (Part Time) to lead and deliver complex HV substation projects across multiple U.S. locations. The role emphasizes technical leadership, protection & control design, and collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

The position supports hybrid work arrangements and offers scope for design leadership, mentorship, and business development involvement in a well-established, employee-owned organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (required)
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience
• Candidates should be eligible for pre-employment onboarding per policy
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering standards and codes

Responsibilities

• Provide project coordination and technical leadership on substation projects
• Develop protection and control design deliverables for HV substations
• Prepare equipment specifications and BOMs for procurement
• Review and approve engineering calculations and drawings
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with clients and vendors
• Manage project budgets and schedules and support BD/pursuit activities
