Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substation Lead Electrical Engineer for our Ft. Mill, South Carolina office.

The role focuses on delivering design and construction support for 12 kV to 345 kV substations within the Power & Energy Substation Team. Responsibilities include leading P&C engineering activities, reviewing calculations, developing specs and cost estimates, and coordinating with owners, sub-consultants, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience in electrical engineering for power projects.
• Proficiency in substation P&C design, 12 kV–345 kV.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level guidance for due diligence, design, and construction of substations.
• Review calculations, one-line diagrams, and protective relaying.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and procurement packages.
• Oversee cross-disciplinary teams and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
