Job summary

WSP is seeking a Substation Lead Electrical Engineer (Station P&C) for our Ft. Mill, South Carolina office.

You will provide high-level technical guidance for utility-scale substations, from concept to construction, across multiple projects in power & energy. Responsibilities include design development for 12 kV–345 kV substations, preparation of specs and cost estimates, and coordination with owners, contractors, and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience delivering design deliverables for capital power projects.
• Proficient with substation P&C design for 12 kV–345 kV.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical guidance for substations and P&C design through project phases.
• Review calculations, schematics, and protection schemes as part of design review.
• Develop and review specifications and cost estimates for procurement and construction.
• Lead and collaborate with cross-discipline teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
