Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substation Senior Electrical Engineer (Station Physical) in Ft. Mill, SC. You will help design and support utility-scale substations from 12 kV to 345 kV, working with the Power & Energy Substation Team.

You will develop layouts, perform calculations, review plans, and guide junior engineers while coordinating with owners, clients, and other disciplines. A bachelor’s degree in EE and 5–7 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer.
• Knowledge of substation physical engineering for 12 kV–345 kV.
• Experience in infrastructure planning, design, and construction.
• Strong technical computation and plan interpretation skills.
• Project management experience on substation projects.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for due diligence, design, development, and construction support of utility-scale substations.
• Develop one-line diagrams, station layouts, grounding, and switchyard designs.
• Review third-party design documents and project plans.
• Prepare data, calculations, and drawings for procurement and construction.
• Lead cross-disciplinary collaboration with engineers, planners, and clients.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, and related standards.
