Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Substation Designer for our Freeport, ME office to provide technical design and CADD support for electric utility projects. You will contribute to the Power & Energy Substation Team and help deliver plans, details, models, and material lists with a focus on quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant post-education experience with drafting and design support.
• Highly familiar with drafting and design support principles, practices, and techniques.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from various sources to support drafting and design activities.
• Use 3D CADD software and work with engineers to resolve design details and prepare precise drawings.
• Verify accuracy of calculations and interpretations of plans and specifications, escalating issues when needed.
• Work with cross-functional teams to execute project work and ensure adherence to codes and regulations.
• Prepare multiple design versions for review by engineers and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
