Job summary

WSP is seeking an Experienced Substation Designer for our Freeport, ME office to join the Power & Energy Substation Team. You will provide technical design and CAD support for substation projects, focusing on physical design and P&C design, delivering plans, models, schematics, and material lists.

You will collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams, ensuring designs comply with codes and project specs, while maintaining quality and safety standards. Travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 5-7 years of post-education drafting/design experience.
• Familiar with drafting/design principles and codes.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Clear English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design and CAD support for substation projects.
• Develop plans, details, models, schematics, specifications, and material lists.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards for accuracy and functionality.
• Coordinate with engineers to resolve design issues and discrepancies.
• Adhere to contract requirements and design standards.
• Assist in preparing multiple design versions for review.
