Job summary

Qualus Corporation seeks a Senior Substation Engineer to lead the design of high‑voltage substations from concept through construction, ensuring code compliance and reliability. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients and cross‑functional teams to drive project success.

This role supports remote work within the United States, with a preference for candidates near our offices for hybrid arrangements and on‑site collaboration when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7–10 years of substation physical design experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design power utility substations per codes and client standards.
• Develop ground grids, lightning protection, and grounding plans.
• Perform AC/DC load, bus span, and ampacity calculations.
• Create equipment specifications and cost estimates for procurement.
• Lead QA/QC and mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
