Job summary

Matrix Project Services seeks a Subcontracts Manager to oversee all subcontracting activities from budgeting through close-out on assigned projects. You will ensure prime contract flow-downs, coordinate with engineering, construction, controls, HSE and quality teams, and guide subcontract administration.

The role requires 8–10+ years in Subcontracts within industrial construction, a related bachelor’s degree, and professional certification when possible.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years’ experience in Subcontracts Management in industrial construction.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
• C.P.M., CPSM, A.P.P., CSCP, or Six Sigma certification a plus.
• Working knowledge of construction disciplines, general safety regulations, and basic quality requirements.
• Understanding of basic project management principles (engineering, scheduling, cost control).
• Strong planning, organizational skills; good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all subcontracting activities for assigned projects.
• Develop and implement the project Subcontracting Strategy.
• Ensure prime contract flow-downs are included in subcontract documents/templates.
• Lead RFP process and subcontractor selection.
• Lead the bid evaluation and subcontractor selection process.
• Negotiate subcontract terms and pricing issues.
• Prepare documents for subcontract award.
• Manage subcontract administration (invoicing, change management, disputes, close-out).
• Maintain Subcontracts Log and monitor performance metrics.
• May lead a team of Subcontract Administrators.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, HSE, and Quality.
