Job summary

General Matter is seeking an experienced Subcontract Administrator to shape project outcomes by forming, negotiating, and administering complex service and construction agreements.

The role ensures subcontractor performance, cost control, and compliance align with project objectives, requiring collaboration with Construction, Engineering, and Support Services to manage risk across all phases.

Qualifications

• Procurement knowledge including service acquisition regulations, policies, and contracting practices.
• Pricing, contract law, negotiations, accounting, and major contract types experience.
• Broad experience managing all phases of subcontract administration, including resolving issues and mitigating risk.
• Understanding of engineering/construction contracting practices, EPC field administration, and project teams.
• Ability to develop negotiation strategies using cost engineering or accounting methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication with proactive risk management.

Responsibilities

• Create, negotiate, and manage multiple contracts and/or service agreements.
• Lead the full bid cycle: sources bidders, issues RFPs, clarifications, bid evaluation, and award recommendations.
• Oversee subcontract performance, monitor cost vs. scope, resolve issues, and conduct progress reviews.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, and Support Services to align activities with obligations.
• Facilitate contract meetings, represent the company in negotiations, and ensure clarity of terms.
• Prepare contract documents, maintain status reports, and implement subcontract management procedures.
