Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Estimator with a focus on Structural Steel in Snohomish, WA. The candidate will prepare detailed cost estimates, analyze blueprints, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate budgeting and on-time execution.

The role requires 5+ years in structural steel estimating, proficiency with Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM, and knowledge of AISC standards. Travel for site visits may be needed; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating, specifically within the structural steel industry.
• Proficiency in estimating software including Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM.
• In-depth knowledge of AISC standards and their application in construction projects.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with ability to develop precise cost estimates.
• Strong communication skills for gathering and clarifying information from stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently on multiple projects.
• Familiarity with construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel components of construction projects.
• Use Estimating Software such as Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM to develop precise estimates.
• Evaluate blueprints, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to gather information.
• Maintain current understanding of steel market pricing and trends.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project proposal meetings.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop strategies for project execution.
• Ensure compliance with AISC and other industry standards in estimates and plans.
