Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Structural Steel Estimator in Pottstown, PA to prepare detailed cost estimates for diverse projects. You will review architectural/structural drawings, create 3D Tekla EPM models, and coordinate with project managers and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely bids.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and 5+ years in structural steel estimating; strong Excel skills and knowledge of AISC standards are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in structural steel estimating within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in Tekla EPM software and familiarity with AISC codes and standards.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects.
• Review and interpret architectural and structural blueprints, specifications, and design drawings.
• Utilize Tekla EPM software to create and modify 3D models of structural steel components.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project scope and requirements.
• Conduct site visits and gather information necessary for estimating purposes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, pricing, and new materials in the market.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring they meet client requirements and deadlines.
• Monitor project progress to identify any deviations from the estimate and suggest corrective actions.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on cost-related issues.
