Job summary
MK Consulting Group in San Diego, CA, seeks an experienced steel construction estimator to prepare estimates and manage projects from small to large scale.
You will take-offs from design drawings, input data into Tekla EPM or Excel templates, review bid documents, and coordinate with vendors, general contractors, architects, and engineers.

Qualifications
- Experience preparing estimates for steel construction projects.
- Ability to interpret RFQs and bid documents.
- Experience with Tekla EPM or similar software.
- Strong attention to accuracy in estimating.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and interprets requests for quotes (RFQ’s).
- Reviews estimates for completeness and accuracy.
- Reviews and understands bid documents, including all specifications and scope of work.
- Executes take-offs from design (contract) drawings.
- Inputs take-offs into Tekla EPM and/or Excel templates.
- Reviewing & understanding construction plans, documents, specifications and contracts.
- Planning, Organizing, and Controlling large commercial building projects.
- Communicating with Vendors, General Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Detailers, etc
