Job summary

MK Consulting Group is seeking an experienced estimator for steel construction projects in Chicago, IL. You will prepare estimates, review bid documents, and perform take-offs from design drawings to support complex steel construction bids.

Responsibilities include interpreting RFQs, ensuring estimate accuracy, and coordinating with vendors, general contractors, architects, and engineers on large commercial projects. Compensation includes salary, bonus, and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret RFQs and bid documents.
• Ensure estimates are complete and accurate.
• Review drawings, specs, and contracts to inform estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs and requests for quotes.
• Review estimates for completeness and accuracy.
• Review bid documents, specifications, and scope of work.
• Perform take-offs from design drawings.
• Enter take-offs into Tekla EPM or Excel templates.
• Review construction plans, documents, specifications and contracts.
• Plan, organize, and control large commercial building projects.
• Communicate with vendors, GCs, architects, engineers, and detailers.
