Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a hands-on Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to support production, testing, and readiness for GS2 tanks and structural hardware. You will act as a primary engineering liaison on the production floor, drive root-cause analyses, and lead corrective actions with cross-functional teams.

You will own MRB dispositions, coordinate ECR/ECO feedback with design, and help implement engineering changes to improve manufacturability and rate-readiness for future tank assemblies.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in production, test, or sustaining engineering for aerospace structures, launch vehicles, or aircraft.
  • Hands-on experience supporting hardware on a production floor with technicians, quality, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge of metallic and composite structure design and fabrication processes (forming, machining, welding, assembly).
  • Experience creating and interpreting engineering drawings, 3D models (Creo/Windchill preferred), and work instructions.
  • Understanding of structural analysis fundamentals and failure modes for metals and composites.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary engineering liaison for GS2 tanks and structural hardware on the production floor across design, manufacturing, quality, test, and operations.
  • Own MRB disposition for nonconformances, concessions, and repair plans for GS2 tanks and structures with responsible design engineers.
  • Lead triage, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for build issues, escapes, and test anomalies.
